**Responsibilities**:
The Data Stewardship Team is responsible for ensuring the data needs of BlackRock and the clients of BlackRock Solutions are fulfilled with accurate, complete, and timely data.

As an Associate on the Data Steward Team, you will support a growing area in a dynamic and challenging environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Interact with data customers both internally and externally to stay abreast of new and evolving business requirements and market trends in order to align our data capabilities and content with business needs.
- Handle index requests from requirements collection, vendor data acquisition, data mapping and normalization, process testing and automation, and quality control.
- Act as project managers responsible for understanding and detailing client requirements, assessing potential solutions, and ensuring key achievements are met.
- Facilitate achievement definition and sequencing within program increment planning and retrospectives, supervising business value driven success criteria objectives and key results.
- Responsible for cross-functional oversight such as identifying dependencies and redundancies across projects and growing transparency through clear communication.
- Communicate, educate, and provide periodic updates to stakeholders and end users.
- Engage with program managers, scrum masters, and engineering teams to keep track of task execution and release timelines to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify risks and blockers and work with team members on the mitigation plans.
- Build, update, and manage documentation pertaining to Index Data Stewardship functions.
- Data Stewards are encouraged to conduct and coordinate UAT on content related data feed / technology changes that involve modifications to the way data is extracted, transformed, or loaded.
- Design data quality checks and performance metrics to assess data health and detect deficiencies and improvement with our data sources or internal data processes.
- Active engagement with key product partners to ensure client data experience is aligned and going above and beyond.
- Ongoing engagement with technology on ways to innovate and deliver high quality data solutions through robust storage, maintenance, management, and delivery methods.

This function will expose the Associate to all of BlackRock’s and BlackRock Solutions’ tools and businesses and will require them to work closely with internal partner teams including Client Analytics, Portfolio Management, Relationship Management, and other BlackRock Data Services groups, as well as external users of security data. The critical responsibilities of this position are at the core of the Data Integrity Group’s objective of providing timely, accurate, and complete data.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Must possess and demonstrate solid grasp of financial markets and general knowledge of the entire investment landscape.
- Have passion for, and comfort with, working in a high pressure and fast paced environment while maintaining quality and the integrity of investment data.
- Be able to work in both an ambitious and team-oriented environment.
- Carry some experience as a provider or user of Index data.
- Possess basic knowledge of SQL, Unix. Knowledge of Python, Tableau is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills to enable clear articulation while working with internal and external clients.
- Strong organizational skills and showcase project management experience.
- 3-5 years of demonstrable experience in the financial services realm.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, preferably in Business or Computer Science field.
