Job Description: Auditor (GST) - 4 Years Experience

**Position Title**: Auditor (GST)

**Qualification**: M.Com / CA / CA (Pursuing)
**Reports to**: Senior Auditor / Manager

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **GST Compliance & Auditing**:

- Conducting GST audits for clients, ensuring adherence to GST laws and regulations.
- Reviewing and verifying GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C.
- Identifying discrepancies in GST returns and providing solutions to resolve them.
- Assessing input tax credit (ITC) claims and ensuring proper documentation and validation.
- Preparing and submitting audit reports in compliance with the statutory requirements.
- **Taxation Advisory & Consulting**:

- Providing expert advisory on GST matters, including GST structuring, compliance, and documentation.
- Assisting in tax planning, GST implementation, and recommending strategies for tax optimization.
- Managing and coordinating GST litigation, including attending hearings, if necessary.
- Liaising with tax authorities regarding GST-related matters and keeping the clients informed of regulatory changes.
- **TA/DA Management**:

- Ensuring proper documentation and compliance for Travel Allowances (TA) and Daily Allowances (DA) for employees.
- Preparing reports for TA/DA reconciliation, and ensuring reimbursements are in line with company policy.
- Maintaining a log for employee travel-related claims and auditing them against organizational guidelines.
- **Financial Analysis**:

- Reviewing client financial statements and tax filings, identifying potential areas for improvement.
- Assessing the effectiveness of internal control systems related to tax and financial reporting.
- Generating reports to summarize findings, including tax savings opportunities and areas of concern.
- **Training & Development**:

- Conducting training sessions for clients or internal teams on updates in GST laws and regulations.
- Keeping clients updated with changes in tax regulations and compliance requirements.

**Skills**:

- **Technical Skills**:

- In-depth knowledge of GST laws, compliance, and tax planning.
- Expertise in financial statement analysis, tax audits, and internal control systems.
- Experience with GST-related software and tools (e.g., SAP, Tally, QuickBooks).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and other accounting tools.
- Knowledge of tax accounting principles and legal frameworks (e.g., Income Tax, GST).
- **Analytical Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
- **Communication & Interpersonal Skills**:

- Ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Liaise effectively with clients, tax authorities, and internal teams.
- **Problem-Solving**:

- Ability to think critically and solve tax-related issues in a practical and timely manner.
- Proactive in recommending tax-saving strategies and managing challenges related to tax compliance.
- **Time Management**:

- Efficient in managing multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of **4 years** of relevant experience in GST auditing, tax compliance, and advisory services.
- Experience in handling GST audits and advisory for different business sectors.
- Hands-on experience in GST return filing, documentation, and reconciliation.
- Experience in handling TA/DA claims and audits will be a plus.
- Familiarity with tax-related software/tools and MS Excel.
