Production Supervisor

**Job Summary**

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor in a packaging manufacturing facility. The role ensures that production processes are efficient, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety protocols. The Production Supervisor will lead a team of operators and technicians to achieve production goals while maintaining optimal machine performance and minimizing downtime.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Production Planning and Management**:

- Oversee daily production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Coordinate with production planners to align capacity with demand.
- Monitor production metrics such as output, efficiency, and waste.
- **Team Supervision**:

- Lead, train, and manage a team of machine operators, technicians, and other production staff.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular team meetings.
- Resolve conflicts and ensure clear communication across shifts.
- **Quality Control**:

- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Work with the quality assurance team to address defects and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of quality issues and actions taken.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce safety protocols and ensure the production floor complies with industry regulations.
- Conduct regular safety training and drills for employees.
- Investigate incidents or near-misses and implement preventive measures.
- **Equipment and Maintenance**:

- Oversee the proper operation of machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance and repair schedules.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements or equipment upgrades.
- **Inventory and Materials Management**:

- Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to avoid shortages.
- Reduce material wastage by optimizing processes.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate production reports, including downtime, output, and labor hours.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on production performance and challenges.

**Qualifications and Skills Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Diploma or certification in industrial production management is an advantage.

**Experience**:

- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Familiarity with packaging production machinery and processes (e.g., printing, lamination, die-cutting).

**Skills**:

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO, HACCP, or GMP.
- Proficiency in production management software or ERP systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**
- Production efficiency and output rates.
- Quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, rework percentage).
- Machine downtime and utilization.
- Safety incident frequency.
- Employee performance and retention.

**Work Environment**
- Fast-paced manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery noise and industrial materials.
- May involve shift work or extended hours during peak production periods.
