**Job Summary**

Himalaya Medical College and Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Assistant Matron** to assist in overseeing the nursing services and ensure high standards of patient care. The Assistant Matron will support the Matron and work collaboratively with medical and administrative staff to maintain a nurturing and efficient healthcare environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Patient Care Management**: Supervise and monitor nursing staff to ensure quality patient care and adherence to hospital standards.
- **Staff Coordination**: Assist in staffing and scheduling, ensuring adequate staff coverage across all shifts.
- **Training and Development**: Assist in conducting orientation programs and continuous training sessions for the nursing team to enhance patient care skills.
- **Compliance and Safety**: Ensure nursing practices adhere to hospital policies and government healthcare regulations, maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
- **Patient Relations**: Address and resolve patient and family concerns in a timely, empathetic manner.
- **Inventory Management**: Oversee the inventory and procurement of medical supplies, ensuring necessary resources are available for patient care.
- **Quality Assurance**: Conduct regular checks on hygiene, cleanliness, and overall functionality of patient areas.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: Diploma or Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing or GNM).
- **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- **Certifications**: Valid nursing license and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Knowledge of healthcare protocols, infection control, and quality standards.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using medical and hospital management software.

**Work Hours**

This role requires flexibility in working hours, with the possibility of night shifts and weekends, as patient care needs demand.
