Principal

** FEMALE ONLY - PRE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL**

The principal will oversee the daily operations and administration of the preschool. This role will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating academic and non-academic activities of the nursery school. The principal will also confer with staff and parents to discuss educational activities and policies and students’ behavioral or learning problems. Through the curriculum, the principal will communicate and promote the Lutheran theology upon which the nursery school was founded.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine the scope of educational activities, develop the curriculum for each class and partner with teaching staff to determine how curriculum will be executed.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems.
- Set educational standards and goals and help establish policies, procedures, and programs to carry them out.
- Engage in ongoing assessment and evaluation of policies, procedures and programs, and implement change to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff and recommend developmental activities for programs and services.
- Supervise, lead and support teaching and administrative staff.
- Assume Head Teacher designation and take on the role of Group Teacher, as needed; Group Teacher responsibilities will take precedence over responsibilities of the Principal role.
- Mentor Group Teachers - teach through example and explanation how to fulfill their responsibilities as it applies to their classroom.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment at all times.
- Develop allocations of funds for staff, supplies, materials, and equipment, authorize purchases and manage the budget.
- Work with parents as needed for their child’s development and education.Ensure nursery school is in compliance with state requirements at all times.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Masters degree in any field related to children or business or a Bachelors degree with one year of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Experience in early development education required - must have at least one year of teaching experience in a group program for children under six years of age, which may include supervised practice teaching and/or student teaching.
- Private and public school experience preferred.Experience with special needs children
- Must possess, maintain and renew CPR for the Professional Rescuer, EPI, Asthma and First Aid within 90 days of hire. Job Description - COS Nursery School Principal FINAL 042622
- Creativity, initiative, flexibility and strong communication skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact and communicate effectively with parents, children, staff, church members and state personnel
- Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, running, stretching, reaching, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds) to participate in children's activities and communicate with children face to face
- Must be able to accompany children up and down stairs in order to supervise activities such as, outdoor play and fire drills
- Love and understanding of children
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn Procare Child Care Management software
- Partner with Christian Education and Family Director, to whom this position reports

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
