NUTRITIONIST

overview

nutritionists provide medical nutrition therapy. They create nutritional programs based on the health needs of patients or residents and counsel patients on how to lead a healthier lifestyle. Nutritionists help to advance an understanding of how diet affects the health and well being of people. Nutritionists generally work in a preventative role on a one-to-one and a group basis with people of all ages providing health advice and promoting healthy eating.

**Responsibilities**:

- researching how the body's functions are affected by nutrient supply
- Handling inbound & outbound calls & explaining customers about the nutritional benefits of the remedial products
- investigating the relationship between genes and nutrients
- studying how diet affects metabolism
- examining the process of nourishment and the association between diet, disease and health
- providing health advice and promoting healthy eating
- advising about special diets
- educating health professionals and the public about nutrition
- working as part of a multidisciplinary team/supporting the work of other health care professionals
- Monitor and review progress of client after each slimming session and devise alternate slimming plan in co-ordination with Slimming Manager.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree with course work approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
- Enthuse client by use of powerful positive expressions at all times,
- enjoys helping people, good listening skills, good communication skills
- excellent motivator
