
Housekeeping Supervisor

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Supervision and Leadership**:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry attendants, and public area cleaners.
- Assign tasks and ensure that all areas are cleaned according to established standards and schedules.
- Provide training and guidance to housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of equipment and supplies.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality control.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- **Cleaning and Maintenance**:
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to identify cleaning needs and ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and meeting rooms.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of trash and linen.
- Report maintenance issues promptly.
- **Inventory and Supplies**:
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities.
- Place orders for supplies as needed and ensure proper storage.
- Control and minimize the use of cleaning supplies and amenities to reduce costs.
- **Administrative Tasks**:
- Prepare and maintain schedules for housekeeping staff.
- Complete daily reports and logs, including room status reports, maintenance reports, and inventory records.
- Handle guest requests and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- **Other Duties**:
- Assist with other housekeeping duties as needed, such as laundry or deep cleaning projects.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager/Director of Operations.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or related certification preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- **Skills**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Ability to train and motivate staff.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- **Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
