The position
Project Details
The project will be implemented in two blocks of Barabanki district, ie Nindaura and Fatehpur blocks. Since 2020, the extraction of groundwater has increased from 61% to 63% in the district. The district has seen an increase in usage of groundwater for industrial purposes in the past three years, while the annual extractable ground water resource has decreased in the same period. Excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides and flooding of rice fields has adversely impacted soil health in the district. The project aims to improve the water efficiency in agriculture in Barabanki district through community mobilization and adoption of water efficient agriculture practices, tree plantations, creation and rejuvenation of water conservation structures, etc.
**Project Location**: Barabanki District of Uttar Pradesh
**Position Tenure**: Full-time employment contract up to March 2027, renewable based on project funding and need.
Position Summary
The Coordinator (Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation) - Harvesting the Future will be responsible for implementing the overall M&E strategy for the project, including the roll-out of the MIS system, data quality control, data analysis and data visualization to identify key outcomes and learnings to advise project implementation. The person will work on designing field surveys and quantitative and qualitative assessments to facilitate regular tracking of project activities and outputs and will work closely with the APO (MERL) at AKF Uttar Pradesh and SPO (MERL) at Delhi and the project’s technical partners. The position will report to the Project Coordinator, Harvesting the Future and work under the overall guidance of the State Programme Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the implementation of timely programme evaluation, from baseline assessments through to annual surveys, midline and endline evaluations.
Facilitate the implementation of the Harvesting the Future project in the district by designing tools and templates for various data collection for measurement of project outputs and outcomes.
Prepare and implement plans for collecting and analyzing the data to ensure that project deliverables are achieved within stipulated timelines and quality parameters.
Undertake regular assessments of progress with respect to the baseline and track progress against approved indicators (this includes output, outcome, and impact indicators).
Lead the data collection from intervention villages for MIS, regularly track the quality of data and identify where improvements might be needed and review timely submission of Global Reach System data for the project.
Undertake regular field visits to monitor progress and support the field team to ensure data quality.
Be responsible for the quality control and rigor of data for all donor and external progress reports for the programme and ensure timely and quality submission of reports.
Be responsible for creating a system for getting the information for updating the monitoring app on time and getting the data collection through the field team.
Support the development of project progress reports, ensuring that these are of high quality and aligned with the reporting requirements of the programme.
Identify training needs and organize M&E related capacity building events for program team.
Document emerging learning from the programme through case studies, policy briefs, video and photo documentation etc. for wider dissemination.
Be responsible for the maintenance of photo-documentation and maintain a photo-bank of all programme interventions.
Develop monitoring dashboards for the programme, including systems for the regular input of data.
The requirements
Facilitate the external evaluation and studies from time to time including support in development of ToRs, selection, progress monitoring and coordination with external evaluators.
Review and analyse weekly reports with the Team Lead and State Programme Manager to identify the causes of bottlenecks in project implementation.
Support internal learning and experience sharing processes, to facilitate cross-learning among block implementation teams and partner organisations.
Carry out any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator and State Program Manager
Qualifications and Skills Required
Post-graduate qualifications in social sciences, statistics and related streams
Being aware of advanced excel and digital platform like google dashboard, Survey CTO/ODK etc. (experience of STATA/R/SPSS data software is an added advantage).
Will be aware of platforms digital platforms for data collection and do the capacity building of team on the same.
Applicants must have good communication skills in Hindi and English (verbal and written)
Willingness to travel extensively within the programme area in district Bahraich.
Should be capable of meeting short deadlines and producing quality materials with a fast turnaround.
