Exp : 2-3 Years (Control Panel Wiring)

An electrician's job description includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in buildings. They may also:

- Read blueprints: Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to plan and execute projects
- Install electrical components: Install wiring, fixtures, circuit breakers, and other electrical hardware
- Test electrical systems: Use testing equipment to ensure systems are installed and operating properly
- Troubleshoot electrical problems: Identify and repair faults in electrical systems using testing devices
- Ensure compliance: Follow state and local building regulations and the National Electrical Code
- Train and direct others: Train and direct workers to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems
- Perform maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- Advise management: Advise management on when to replace aged electrical equipment

Electricians should have strong technical knowledge, attention to safety, and problem-solving skills. They should also be able to interpret electrical drawings and blueprints. Most states require electricians to have a state license or certification.
