Dietitian

1. Shall report primarily to the Senior Doctors, Duty Doctors and Chief Dietitian.
2. Shall hold recognized qualifications.
3. Shall be responsible for the daily diet requirements.
4. Shall check and ensure general cleanliness of kitchen area utensils as well as crockery and cutlery.
5. Shall receive indents from each ward and maintain register accordingly.
6. Shall provide urgent request for diet of new patients.
7. Shall plan therapeutic menus along with other dietitians.02
8. Shall supervise cooking during duty hours, taste food and suggest improvements.
9. Shall supervise distribution of food to the wards.
10. Shall ensure that food served is always hygienic, attractive and hot/cold.
11. Shall visit patients in the wards daily, discuss dietary problems and give advice.
12. Shall check patients’ charts daily to ensure that food charges are properly entered.
13. Shall maintain a good relationship with ward staff and seek their cooperation in prompt indenting of meal requirements.
14. Shall make diet sheets for patients, if needed.
15. Shall suggest and implement new recipes.
16. Shall help new staff to get oriented to their jobs.
17. Shall ensure that cleanliness is maintained and wastage is mínimal.
Shall perform any other duties assigned by Senior Doctors, Duty Doctors and Chief Dietitian.
