Working knowledge in database programming languages (in MSSQL/PostgreSQL/MySQL)
Knowledge of database backup recovery, security and performance monitoring standards
Understanding of database concepts ACID properties, normal forms, DDL/DML, transaction logging, log shipping, Mirroring, High-Availability etc
Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling
Familiarity with ETL and/or reporting tools such as SSIS, SSAS, SSRS etc
Basics of PowerShell or Python or UNIX shell scripting
Excellent communication skills with analytical mindset and problem solving attitude
Adapt to new process or technology changes within the organization
