Basketball Coach

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Training & Skill Development**:

- Plan and deliver basketball training sessions for students, focusing on essential skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and game strategies.
- Design and implement drills that improve players' technique, physical conditioning, teamwork, and game understanding.
- Evaluate players’ strengths and weaknesses, providing individualized feedback to help improve their skills and performance.
- **Team Coaching & Strategy**:

- Select and manage the school basketball team, ensuring fair and balanced team selection and promoting inclusivity.
- Develop game strategies and tactics, preparing players for inter-school matches and tournaments.
- Teach basketball rules and game etiquette, ensuring players demonstrate good sportsmanship during games and practices.
- **Team Preparation & Competition**:

- Lead the team through practice sessions in preparation for upcoming basketball games, ensuring players are physically and mentally prepared.
- Organize logistics for games, including transportation, equipment, and schedules.
- Attend and support the team during basketball matches and tournaments, providing coaching and guidance throughout competitions.
- **Physical Conditioning & Fitness**:

- Plan and oversee fitness and conditioning programs that improve players' endurance, strength, speed, and agility relevant to basketball.
- Ensure that players maintain proper physical fitness to avoid injuries and enhance overall team performance.
- **Student Development & Mentorship**:

- Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages teamwork, self-discipline, and personal growth.
- Guide students in building confidence, resilience, and leadership skills both on and off the court.
- Promote a healthy and active lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of exercise, teamwork, and a balanced approach to academics and sports.
- **Communication & Collaboration**:

- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, match schedules, and any issues that arise during practices or games.
- Work with other sports staff and faculty to integrate basketball training with the broader physical education program.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches to share best practices, strategies, and resources for team development.
- **Equipment & Facilities Management**:

- Ensure all necessary basketball equipment (balls, jerseys, nets, etc.) is available, maintained, and in good condition.
- Work with the school’s administration to ensure that the sports facilities meet the needs of the basketball team.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay current with developments in basketball coaching, strategies, and training techniques.
- Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and other professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
- Continuously reflect on coaching practices and seek feedback to improve teaching and training methods.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Proven experience coaching basketball, preferably in a school or youth setting.
- Certification in basketball coaching or sports coaching (e.g., national or regional coaching certification) is a plus.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and game rules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire players of all skill levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage practice schedules, competitions, and student needs.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and faculty to foster a positive sports environment.

**Working Conditions**:

- Part-time position with flexible hours, depending on practice schedules and games.
- Some evening and weekend work required for training sessions, matches, and tournaments.
- Supportive and collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
