Job Description
- Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Quantity Surveyor role located in Bengaluru and Mumbai at Cubico by HomeLane. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for activities related to Cost Control, BOQ, Cost Management, Cost Planning, and Cost Reporting on interior design projects across various sectors.

Roles of Estimation and Quantity Surveyors
- Project Cost Estimation:

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and contingencies.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess project affordability and alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Quantity Take-offs (BOQ Preparation):

- Quantify and prepare a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on architectural and service drawings.
- Ensure accuracy in measuring quantities and double-check calculations for potential errors.
- Tendering and Procurement:

- Analyze tender documents and prepare bidding documents in coordination with stakeholders.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate pricing, and recommend the best-fit contractor or supplier.
- Cost Control and Budget Management:

- Monitor ongoing project costs, comparing actual expenditures to budgets, and recommend corrective measures if necessary
- Identify areas of potential savings without compromising quality.
- Contract Administration:

- Support contract drafting, including pricing schedules and terms, ensuring clarity and alignment with project scope.
- Manage claims, variations, and disputes arising during the project lifecycle.

Value Engineering:

- Collaborate with architects and engineers to identify cost-effective alternatives for design or materials.
- Focus on optimizing resources without compromising quality or functionality.
- Reporting and Documentation:

- Maintain detailed records of estimates, contracts, payments, and variations.
- Generate periodic reports on financial progress and forecasting for project stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Communication:
Act as a liaison between project managers, architects, vendors, and clients to clarify cost-related queries.
- Facilitate transparent discussions regarding budget adjustments, approvals, and payments.
- Market Analysis:
Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and labor rates to provide the most accurate estimates.
- Develop a network of reliable vendors and contractors for accurate pricing and smooth procurement.

Job Requirement
- Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Reporting
- Experience in preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Interior works, MEP works
- Cost Planning
- Knowledge of Quantity Surveying principles and practices
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Relevant education or certifications in Quantity Surveying, Estimation or related field
