One of our Client, a well known name in Agriculture industry is on search of Junior Entomologist

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Title

Junior Entomologist

Location/Place of posting

Ravalkol, Hyderabad

Qualification : -MSc (Agriculture) in Entomology

Professional Experience : - 2-3 years

**Work Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in the field of Entomology specially in field crops.**

**Required Skills**:
1. Mass rearing of insect pests of agricultural importance on artificial media and /or natural diet including media preparation and artificial diet preparation

2. Infestation of plants with laboratory reared insects, and develop and/or contribute in SOP development

3. Field activities - Ensure on-time field activities to achieve the desired and planned result including damage evaluation and data recording

4. Net house work -Sowing of donor seeds, good agronomy of the plants to avoid cross contamination. Nutritional and insecticides/fungicides spray on timely basis or as of when required. Pest infestation, Data recording

5. Post harvesting work
- Proper disposal of the residual crops after recording of data.

6. Also responsible for data compilation, technical details of project, and planning of the projects under the guidance of Senior Scientist.

7. Interaction with Breeding and trialling team for understanding of the pest presence and pressure of the infestation.

8. Thorough knowledge of about the devastating pest specific to Crop.

9. Pest monitoring in the breeders plots and suggesting spray schedules

11. Working in the team of breeders, biotechnologists and product development.

12. Sound skills to manage laboratory, green houses and fields

13. Experience of working with Genetically modified crops

14. Managing people during critical stages of the process.

15. Available at peak seasonal period during early hours/” out of office hours”

16. Maintaining of seed inventory. Data recording for seeds received from Breeders and seed supplied to breeding/other groups.

Knowledge Skills & Experience:
Ø Critical Knowledge: Basics of Plant Agronomy (specially Corn), Lab management, Field management, People management and team worker.

Ø Critical Experience: Entomology experience for Corn/Pearl Millet/Sorghum, Basic breeding knowledge, Computer skills for result and data management.

Work Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in the field of Entomology specially in field crops.
