**Key Responsibilities**:

- Schedule and dispatch drivers for container pickups and drop-offs at California ports
- Book and manage port appointments via port systems (e.g., PierPass, eModal)
- Coordinate with shipping lines, port terminals, and truckers for load movement
- Track and monitor container availability, return windows, demurrage, and detention
- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and carriers to ensure timely deliveries
- Update dispatch systems and maintain accurate records of each move
- Handle last-minute changes and resolve delivery issues proactively

**Requirements**:

- Minimum **1 year of drayage dispatch experience at California ports**:

- Strong knowledge of **port appointment scheduling**, **cut-off times**, and terminal operations
- Experience coordinating with **shipping lines, port terminals, and trucking companies**:

- Familiar with port software like **eModal, PierPass, and carrier portals**:

- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with dispatch software, spreadsheets, and logistics platforms

**Preferred**:

- Prior experience in a **freight forwarder or drayage company**:

- Knowledge of **customs holds, port congestion protocols, and container tracking tools**
