
Insurance Coordinator

Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to admission, treatment, or procedures.
- Obtain prior authorizations and approvals for medical procedures from insurance providers.
- Accurately enter and update insurance details in the hospital’s management information system.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to gather necessary documentation for claims submission.
- Submit insurance claims accurately and promptly, ensuring adherence to payer guidelines.
- Follow up on submitted claims to ensure timely reimbursement and resolve any denials or discrepancies.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, coverage issues, and appeals.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
- Maintain detailed records of insurance correspondence and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (preferred).
- **Experience**: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare insurance coordination role.
- **Knowledge**: Familiarity with insurance processes, medical terminology, ICD/CPT codes, and billing software
