Ford Design - Technical Operations turns design vision into reality with an obsession to detail and the art of the possible. As an integral part of Ford Global Design, we deliver theme feasibility, surface geometry, and production-launch appearance quality.

1. B.S. degree preferred but not required
2. 3yrs minimum experience developing Class 1A surface
3. Extremely proficient at developing Class 1A surface, utilizing Ford's C3P/C3PNG toolset.
4. Thorough working knowledge of the Surface development process from Design conception phase though production release for both Exterior and Interior components
5. Understanding of data structure within C3P/C3PNG

1. Activate the theme by molding the creative vision into usable production intent surfaces while retaining the visual allure and identity
2. Utilize good aesthetic and mechanical sensibilities to conceive elegant and effective surface solutions to complex geometric, ergonomic, and mechanical challenges
3. Interpret value and reflection changes in the Class A surface network with both Design acuity and technical construction knowledge.
4. Converge technical and thematic concepts into usable surface that meets Design intent with product development timing and quality requirements included.
Work collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams on complex technical programs in a fast-paced environment
Digitally prototype realistic environments to identify natural reflection opportunities in surface
Help define and refine the visual and physical language of our brand through the design of our hardware
Utilize both design acuity and technical knowledge to identify undesirable distortions and tears via exaggerated striped reflective patterns across the surface network.
Support the development of category-defining products, helping change the world through design
