CNC Programmer/operator

**Job Title: Large Size CNC Milling Programmer/Operator (Non-Metals)**

**Department: Prototyping**

**Reports To: Prototype Manager**

**Location: Manesar, Gurgaon**

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **CNC Milling Programming**:

- Develop CNC programs for milling large-sized models based on CAD and engineering specifications.
- Use CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX etc) to generate and optimize CNC programs for non-metal materials.
- Modify and edit CNC programs to accommodate design changes or production needs.

**Machine Setup & Operation**:

- Set up CNC milling machines, including loading tools, fixtures, and setting machine parameters.
- Operate CNC milling machines to perform machining tasks such as cutting, shaping, and drilling large non-metal workpieces.
- Monitor machine performance during operations to ensure quality and accuracy of work.

**Quality Control**:

- Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance of CNC machines to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Adjust machine settings to correct deviations from specifications or tolerances.

**Material Handling**:

- Select and load appropriate non-metal materials (Clay, composites, etc.) into the CNC machine.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage during machining.
- Ensure stocking of materials and maintain inventory of raw materials and tools.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of tools, materials, and machines.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and comply with environmental and safety regulations.

**Maintenance & Troubleshooting**:

- Perform basic maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as tool changes, cleaning, and lubrication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with the CNC milling machines during production.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other operators to review technical drawings and design specifications.
- Communicate with the production team to meet production schedules and resolve any issues or delays.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Technical certifications in CNC programming or machining (preferred).

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in 5 axis CNC milling operations, preferably with large-sized machines.
- Experience with non-metal materials (plastics, composites, wood, foam, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for CNC programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, SolidWorks).

**Skills**:

- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tool setup, and operation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of measuring tools and techniques (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and maintain high levels of precision.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
- Capable of working with hands and tools for precision tasks.
- Good vision for inspecting parts and ensuring high-quality standards.

**Working Conditions**:

- The role is based in a prototyping facility with exposure to Dust and machinery.
- Safety gear (gloves, goggles, ear protection) must be worn at all times.
