**About Uday Waldorf Inspired School**

**Vision**

Uday’s purpose is to create a community dedicated to the pursuit of a better world. Founded on Rudolf Steiner’s humanitarian curriculum, Uday aims to awaken and inspire students’ critical thinking, emotional intelligence and artistic expression, preparing them to be contributors to a better world.

**Uday’s Story**

Uday, meaning ‘sunrise’, was founded because a mother wanted to give a more meaningful and holistic education to her child. As a mother herself, when Gurpreet, the founder of the school, started to search for the schools for her daughter, she felt a deep disconnect between what the existing education system had to offer and her own values and beliefs on the purpose of education. Gurpreet’s pursuit for an education system for her child that aligned with her values led her to Waldorf. Waldorf provided answers to her many questions for here was an education system which taught to the whole human being
- encouraged greater social and moral responsibility, and allowed young children to be children rather than forcing them into an accelerated intellectualism. Inspired by the philosophy, Gurpreet quit her corporate career and set out on a new journey when she founded Uday Waldorf Inspired School of Jaipur.

The school began as a Kindergarten in November 2014 with four children. With great support from its parent community, the school has been growing steadily. Uday believes in offering quality education and does not compromise on it’s ethos for quick growth. Today, Uday has moved beyond kindergarten and caters to children up to grade 4. It will grow each year by one grade taking the school children forward on this enriching journey.

**Mission**

Inspired by Rudolf Steiner's insights into human development, we are dedicated to balancing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each of our pupils in a way that gives them the confidence, resilience and insight to make a positive difference in the community and world around them throughout their lives. Uday’s curriculum engenders in its young people the academic, social, artistic, and practical abilities that will enable them to become self-reliant and generous individuals capable of meeting whatever challenges they face in the future.

**Elementary Teacher Position Description**

Under the direction of the Head of School and the Principal, the Elementary Teacher will lead a lower elementary classroom. The Elementary Teacher will be responsible for presenting the elementary curriculum to students, participating in parent education and conferences,record-keeping, and assessment.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**

Curriculum, Materials, and Classroom Management

1. Presenting consistent and individual group lessons to the students and supporting each child’s direction and success.

2. Meeting regularly with students to work with them in assessing their own success and facilitating an individual path of progress.

3. Working with students of varying abilities assigned to the classroom, including those with learning exceptionalities, as well as attending meetings to support children who require it.

4. Preparing the Waldorf classroom environment to meet the students’ needs and interests.

**Parent Education, Meetings, and Conferences**

1. Assisting in the development of and participates in school functions, including but not limited to open houses,orientation meetings, parent education, and school-wide activities.

2. Preparing documents and reports necessary to facilitate parent teacher conferences or other meetings requested by parents or school administration.

**School Growth and development**
- Play an active role in the growth of the school by helping in strategic decisions, policy formations, Policy amendments and promotions.

**Record-Keeping and Data Assessment**

1. Maintaining student records, reports, evaluations, inventories, and tests.

2. Completing all progress monitoring and benchmark assessments on time as scheduled by administration.

3. Participating in all training.

4. Preparing student progress reports and assessment reports as required by administration.

**Requirements**:

- Passionate about working with children and keen to help them by giving the right environment.
- Interested in consistent personal growth and being a good human by reflecting upon their own thoughts, feelings, emotions.
- Self motivated for learning new skills required for the job.
- Have a firm commitment to upholding the school’s mission.
- Have atleast 6 months experience of working with children.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English/Hindi
- Having the ability to research and create own lesson plans.
- Have an open mind to learn and unlearn.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
