**Santiniketan Medical College & Hospital** is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented **Operation Theatre (OT) Assistant** to join our esteemed surgical department. The OT Assistant is a vital team member who supports the seamless functioning of our operating theatres, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient environment for both patients and the surgical team.

**Job Summary**

The OT Assistant is responsible for preparing the operating theatre for surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team during operations, and managing the cleaning and sterilization of equipment post-surgery. This role requires a combination of technical skill, organizational ability, and a strong commitment to patient safety and care.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Pre-operative Duties**:

- Prepare and set up the operating room with the necessary sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled surgeries.
- Ensure all surgical equipment, including lights, suction machines, and monitors, are in perfect working order.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, which may include transporting them to the operating room and helping with positioning on the surgical table.
- Scrub, gown, and glove to assist the surgical team as required.
- **Intra-operative Support**:

- Anticipate the needs of surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
- Handle and manage surgical specimens as directed by the surgeon.
- Operate and monitor basic medical equipment under supervision.
- **Post-operative Duties**:

- Assist with patient transfer from the operating room to the recovery area.
- Clear, clean, and disinfect the operating room after each procedure.
- Collect, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to hospital protocols.
- Restock the operating room with supplies and ensure it is ready for the next case.
- **Inventory and Maintenance**:

- Help manage the inventory of surgical supplies, linens, and instruments.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the OT in-charge.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the OT suite, storage rooms, and sterilization areas.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- **Education**: A Diploma or Certificate in **Operation Theatre Technology (OTT)** from a recognized institution is required. A Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) is a plus.
- **Experience**: Previous experience of at least **1 year** in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred. Freshers with strong practical knowledge and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and operating room procedures.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and sterile techniques.
- Basic understanding of medical equipment used in the OT.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: ₹127,400.60 - ₹328,497.77 per year
