LEPRA Society is a pan-India health and development organization working for the people affected by Leprosy and other neglected diseases to transform their lives and overcome poverty, discrimination and disability. LEPRA endeavors to diagnose, facilitate treatment to those affected and help them to rehabilitate into the mainstream of the society. LEPRA works in collaborations with the Government and other funding agencies to reach into most inaccessible villages of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, UP, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh states.**About Project**: The project is facilitating two national programmes namely Leprosy and Lymphatic Filariasis in two districts (Nirmal and Kumrambheem) in Telangana since many years. The services are being offered to the needy through referral centers located at Govt. health facilities and in the field by the persons trained in leprosy.
In light of increasing service geography, LEPRA recently initiated activities in the neighboring state/district Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Accordingly, an MoU is entered with the state Govt. to support the district NLEP specifically in Rajura and Gondpipri blocks.
The project addresses the issues right from creating awareness in the community/society about the diseases to provision of rehabilitation measures - a series of activities by involving all the stakeholders.
**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Conducting nerve function assessment of all the registered cases in leprosy
- Provision of physio care to the needy at the satellite/field clinics
- Maintaining the documentation of all the services related to physiotherapy including generation of periodical reports, kobo tool etc.,
- Provision of specialized footwear to the needy under leprosy and lf morbidity management programmes
- Teaching self-care practices under disability management in leprosy and lf including ulcer/wound management
- Lead role in conducting CMEs/capacity building/sensitization programmes to medical and paramedical fraternity - both public and private institutions
- Orient the health care functionaries on Leprosy& LF along with counselors on Physio care
- Maintaining Indents and design customized Physio aids and appliances
- Any other activities entrusted by the reporting officer from time to time
**Ed**ucation and experience required**:
- Should be minimum +2(Intermediate) and Certificate/Diploma/Graduation in Physiotherapy
- Should have 1-2 years of relevant experience /Fresher also can apply.
- Preferably from Chandrapur district.
**Skills required**:
- Work closely with the persons affected with leprosy and filariasis
- Willing to travel by two-wheeler (with license) in the project operational area
- Working knowledge of computer and smart phone.
- Working knowledge/experience in any national health programme
***Remuneration:Rs.18,000- Per month (Gross)**
