- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical system failures, including wiring, circuits, and electrical panels
- Testing: Test electrical systems with voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters
- Safety: Ensure that safety guidelines are followed and advise management if equipment is hazardous
- Compliance: Ensure that electrical systems are compliant with building and electrical installation codes
- Reporting: Write electrical maintenance reports and document electrical repairs
- Preventive maintenance: Prepare preventive maintenance plans to ensure electrical equipment is running smoothly
- Installation: Install new electrical appliances and equipment
- Advice: Provide professional advice on electrical issues to clients
