Job Description
- JV Governance / Oversight is responsible to oversee the Reconciliation functions performed out of JV. The role is for the Middle Office Reconciliation function and the scope would be to ensure JV’s adherence to agreed performance standards as defined in the (KPI, KRIs); participating and guiding JV on open issues, client escalations, people issues. Working very closely with JV and helping them achieve the mandated targets through daily/ weekly and monthly checkpoint meetings. Working with JV and upstream teams in identifying the root causes of the issues; arriving at potential solutions and monitoring and tracking the progress. Also escalating any issues which impacting the implementation. Providing issue-based support
OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and take end to end ownership of Operations pertaining to:
Cash & Positions Recons
Reporting tasks
Reconciliation Activities
Exception Management and resolution
Stake Holder management
Client interactions
Remédiation enfoncements
Project management
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Governance of Service standards through
- Daily calls on break/ issue Mgt
- Weekly governance calls with JV to discuss and guide - Open issues, client onboarding, client escalations, Challenges, People issues
- Monthly governance to assess and review Performance measurement against set standards
Issue Based Support
- Partnering with JV Mgt in performing the root cause analysis
- Reviewing the findings and recommendations with onshore leads
- Sign off the remediation plan
- Monitoring & tracking the plan to closure
Due Diligence
Conducting periodic due diligence activities
- Ensure adherence to Business Continuity (BCP) plans
- Risk sensing program
- Audit and regulatory requirements
Transformation, Transition & Change Management
- Understanding the change agenda, transformation initiatives and partnering with JV to drive them as per agreed timelines
- Ensuring seamless and smooth migration of work from SS to JV
- Facilitate and escalate any issues that are on the critical path of implementing the initiatives
Reporting
- Preparation of the monthly governance deck and other reporting’s
- Validating and ensuring the data quality at source for monthly deck
Managerial
- Demonstrate the ‘Risk Excellence’ culture in your behavior
- Maintain a detailed understanding of:
o The scope of the role’s managerial responsibilities
o The competence of the staff reporting to you
- Ensure that your team has clear understanding of their reporting lines, authority levels, scope of responsibilities (including those delegated to them and those they delegate), objectives, training and competency requirements plus progress is reviewed regularly in line with Company policy, and are regulatory registered where appropriate for their role
- Develop effective working relationships and communications with staff and ensure that staff are motivated, developed and supported.
- Establish and monitor systems of control, delegated authority and escalation procedures so that the business complies with internal policies and external regulations and can be managed effectively
- Adhere to the delegation and oversight (management information and escalation) framework in the performance of daily tasks. This includes taking proactive action to ensure there is adequate production of management information that is fits for purpose, and issues are raised as appropriate
- Establish and monitor an effective delegation framework to ensure that tasks are performed by staff members with appropriate capacity and authority level (based on knowledge, skills and competence).
- Establish and monitor an effective oversight framework to ensure that issues are appropriately identified, escalated and resolved. This includes: a) ensuring that appropriate management information is received, considered and challenged as appropriate at intervals proportionate to the risks; and b) that staff members have clear understanding of the escalation path/principles
- Establish and nurture a culture of ‘Risk Excellence’ within the team, encourage an environment of openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion.
- Ensure that you make reasonable decisions by exercising reasonable care when considering information available to you. This includes taking proactive action to ensure that the information you have is suitable and adequate.
