Amazon Food, food delivery by Amazon, is building the next generation food delivery product on behalf of consumers and restaurants. Come and cook something great with us We have launched new services in Food Ordering and Delivery for Amazon customers in Bangalore. We are looking for a SDE2 to design and build new features on our tech stack to deliver seamless food ordering experiences across the IN marketplace. We operate in a high performance co-located agile ecosystem where SDEs, Product Managers and Principals frequently connect with end customers of our products. Our SDEs stay connected with customers through attending voice of customer calls and directly reading customer anecdotes from surveys. This allows our engineers to significantly influence product roadmap, contribute to PRFAQs and create disproportionate impact through the tech they deliver. You will be responsible for building key shopping features like search, discovery, checkout, personalisation (using ML) and payments for our new offerings in Amazon food, and build scalable features to automate onboarding of food merchants and restaurants. This is a new business that moves at a fast pace, and you will be part of a team that operates at high velocity, owning and updating our own tech stack, and making a direct difference to customers' lives by launching this IN first category. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Working closely with senior and principal engineers to help architect and deliver high quality technology solutions Own development in multiple layers of the stack including CX, Merchant Experience, Delivery Experience/Last Mile Delivery Tech, and build services on native AWS from scratch. Operational rigor for a rapidly growing tech stack Contribute to patents, tech talks and innovation drives Measure success metrics and influence evolution of the tech products you own. About the team ** Food team owns the complete tech stack across Customer Experience, Merchant Experience and Delivery offering an end to end view of the business and tech. ** Team has innovative and inclusive culture in driving the roadmap. - Experience working with service oriented architectures and web-based solutions. - Experience in eCommerce and deep hands-on technical expertise - Experience working on the AWS technologies. - Experience with NoSQL and relational databases. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Experience working on Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban).
