You will be part of the Aftermarket Procurement Team for sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and South Asia.
Job responsibilities- Purchasing based on specifications and according to predefined procedures and processes to ensure delivery capability.- Support the sales team by obtaining supplier quotations and negotiating with suppliers.- Purchases products/items of expertise area at the right quality, characteristics, and volume.- Participates in the selection of suppliers by analysis, evaluation, and handles operational relations and interfaces with selected suppliers.- Monitors the operational performance of the selected suppliers to ensure that FLSmidth’s capacity to deliver is stable and long term.- Expedites Purchase Orders to ensure on time delivery, this includes physical visits to suppliers to check on progress.- Coordinates between the different departments within FLSmidth to ensure timely procurement involvement and to ensure that all relevant information is available to Procurement.- Negotiates terms and conditions independently within the given framework.- May prepare cost estimations based on analyses of past pricing trends as a basis for price setting.- Compiles specific reports and performs calculations to support Procurement, Sales, and Projects.- Builds and maintains relationships with supplier to secure future delivery of products.- Ensures the group sourcing strategy is understood within the business units and follows up on whether objectives are met.
What you bring- Solid Techno-commercial knowledge.- Understanding of technical specification & drawings in purchase orders.- Strong Negotiation skills- Cost estimation knowledge is preferred.- Bought out equipment knowledge would be an added advantage.
Education Qualification
Bachelor’s Engineering degree preferably specializing in mechanical from a reputed university.
Experience
5+ years' experience in a technical purchasing role and expediting.
