**Position Title**: Sono Typist
**Department**: Radiology / Sonography
**Reports To**: Head of Radiology / Senior Sonographer
**Job Summary**
The Sono Typist is responsible for accurately typing, formatting, and processing medical reports generated by radiologists/sonographers. This role requires speed, accuracy, attention to detail, and familiarity with medical terminology, particularly related to sonography and radiology.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Transcribe ultrasound and radiology reports dictated by sonographers and radiologists.
- Ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, and medical terminology.
- Format reports in line with hospital and departmental standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient data and reports at all times.
- Coordinate with sonographers, radiologists, and administrative staff for report clarifications.
- Update and manage patient records in the hospital information system.
- Meet turnaround time (TAT) requirements for report completion.
- Perform quality checks to minimize errors in reports.
- Assist with clerical and administrative tasks in the radiology department as required.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (Graduate preferred).
- Certification or diploma in Medical Transcription / Typing is an advantage.
- Typing speed: Minimum 40-50 wpm with high accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology (radiology/sonography preferred).
- Good computer skills (MS Office, Hospital Information Systems).
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
**Work Environment**
- Hospital-based; typically within the Radiology/Sonography Department.
- Requires working closely with medical professionals.
- May involve shift duties depending on hospital policy.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
