**Designation/Role**: Backend SDE - 2

**Location**: Gurgaon + Bangalore

**Working Days**: 5 days/week : WFO
- 1+ years of startup experience is a must
- Good proficiency in core Java and Python

**Educational Qualification**: Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or higher in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.

Software Development Engineer-2 will be passionate problem solvers and will lead solutioning, implementation and scaling of solutions.

**Role Dimensions**:

- Knowledge & Application: Knowledge levels are from experience in a particular field. Ability to build on existing knowledge levels appropriate to the task of business priorities.
- Interaction: Routine interaction with a team to cascade instructions and with internal stakeholders (Product and Operations) to provide information related to their area of work.
- Problem Solving: Similar problems need to be identified based on questioning; solutions to be identified are based on a set of fixed options.
- Accountability/Impact: Ensures support to business in facilitating its day-to-day activity
- Reporting: The incumbent will be reporting to the Engineering Manager

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for designing, developing, releasing and supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software systems; Contributing to tech stack choices as appropriate.
- Ensure that features/products can be scaled easily, are highly available, meet all non-functional and functional requirements are easy to maintain.
- Write code that has very good low-level design, and is easy to understand, maintain, extend, and test. Influences best practices in the team.
- Key contributors to SDLC processes (code reviews, testing, CI/CD, etc), drive improvement in processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Create and manage execution plans with respect to delivery commitments.
- Mentoring juniors in the team.

**Skill and Competency**:

- A good understanding of RDBMS(MySQL, Postgres), NoSQL systems(Cassandra, HBase), Queuing systems(RabbitMQ, Kafka), and Caching technologies(Redis, Aerospike, Memcache) is a must.
- Good programming skills with any programming languages like Java, Ruby, Scala, Python, Go, JavaScript, or C++.
- Extremely good at problem-solving and is a self-thinker.
- Ability to break-down larger/fuzzier problems into smaller ones in the scope of the product.
- Ability to build a feature from scratch & drive it to completion.
- An understanding of the industry's coding standards & creating appropriate technical documentation.
- Experience in mentoring junior tech team members is desired.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced timeline-driven environment.
- Good team player and ability to collaborate with others.
- Self-driven and motivated, very high on ownership.

**Preferred Experiences**:

- Prior experience in developing and maintaining large-scale systems on Cloud - Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- 2+ years experience in any OOP language like Java, Scala, C++ etc
- Prior experience of working on big data technologies - Spark, Hadoop, etc.
- Prior experience in asynchronous processing (queuing systems), and workflow systems.
