Job Description: Finance & Accounts - Assistant
Position Overview: The Finance & Accounts - Assistant plays a pivotal role in the financial management of the organization, overseeing all aspects of financial operations, accounting, and reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership abilities to ensure the organization's financial health and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's goals and objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to optimize financial performance.
- Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights to management for informed decision-making.
2. Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
3. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure integrity in financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and standards.
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and examinations.
4. Cash Management and Treasury:
- Manage cash flow to meet operational needs and optimize liquidity.
- Monitor banking activities and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
- Implement cash management strategies to maximize returns on idle funds and minimize borrowing costs.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor the accounting and finance team, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs to develop team members' skills.
6. Financial Systems and Processes:
- Evaluate and optimize financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Recommend and implement improvements to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in finance and accounting technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA Finance /M com.
- Proven experience (X years) in accounting or finance roles, with X years in a managerial position.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and Tally ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management and strategic thinking.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in financial management.
