**Role Description: English Teacher (Reading Skills Focus)**

**Position Overview**:
An English Teacher specializing in reading skills plays a crucial role in enhancing students’ ability to read, comprehend, and analyze various forms of English texts. The primary responsibility is to support students, particularly expats and those from non-English speaking backgrounds, in improving their reading proficiency for both academic and everyday purposes.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Reading Instruction**:

- Develop and implement lesson plans focused on improving reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency.
- Teach students how to approach different types of texts (e.g., fiction, non-fiction, technical documents).
- Use various reading strategies, such as skimming, scanning, summarizing, and predicting, to improve understanding.
- **Assessment & Feedback**:

- Assess students' reading levels using formal and informal tools, identifying areas of strength and those needing improvement.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback on reading exercises and assignments.
- Track student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
- **Tailored Support**:

- Work with students who face difficulties in reading, providing additional support through one-on-one tutoring sessions, group work, or specialized resources.
- Address language barriers that may affect reading, especially for students from Asia-Pacific or non-native English speakers.
- **Engagement & Motivation**:

- Foster a love for reading by introducing engaging texts that align with students’ interests and cultural backgrounds.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Use multimedia resources, including digital reading platforms, to enhance learning experiences.
- **Skill Development**:

- Teach critical reading skills, such as identifying main ideas, drawing inferences, and evaluating arguments in texts.
- Help students expand their vocabulary and develop contextual understanding of new words.
- Guide students in setting personal reading goals and track their progress over time.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field.
- Experience teaching reading skills, particularly to non-native speakers.
- Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to motivate students from various backgrounds.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: ₹200.00 - ₹250.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
