**A Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) Technician is a healthcare professional responsible for conducting and analyzing diagnostic tests that assess lung function and respiratory efficiency. They work closely with physicians and other medical staff to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment for patients with respiratory conditions.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Conduct Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)**:
Administer spirometry, lung volume tests, diffusion capacity tests, and other respiratory assessments.
Educate patients on the testing procedures and ensure proper technique for accurate results.
**2. Equipment Management**:
Operate, calibrate, and maintain PFT equipment in compliance with safety and operational standards.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
**3. Patient Interaction**:
Obtain patient medical history related to respiratory health.
Provide clear instructions and guidance to patients during tests.
Monitor patients for signs of distress or complications during procedures.
**4. Data Analysis and Reporting**:
Accurately record test results and prepare detailed reports for review by physicians.
Compare findings with normal values to identify abnormalities.
**5. Compliance and Safety**:
Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
**6. Collaboration**:
Work alongside pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide support for other respiratory therapy tasks as required.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Respiratory Therapy, Allied Health Sciences, or a related field.
**Certifications**: Certification in Pulmonary Function Testing (e.g., CPFT or RPFT) is preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in respiratory testing or a related field is an advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating PFT equipment and software.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, and patient care skills.
Pay: From ₹17,000.00 per month
