- Develop concepts, sketches, and mood boards for collections, considering color schemes, fabric types, and trends.
- Experiment with textures, patterns, and prints (e.g., jacquard, prints, embroidery) using design software and manual techniques.
- Choose appropriate fabrics (e.g., cotton, silk, wool, synthetic materials) based on function, durability, and aesthetics.
- Coordinate with fabric manufacturers to ensure quality and specification standards are met.
- Keep up-to-date with global têxtile trends, colors, patterns, and materials.
- Study fashion shows, trade fairs, design magazines, and consumer behavior to understand market demands.
- Analyze competitor products and anticipate future trends in the têxtile and fashion industries.
- Develop eco-friendly designs, focusing on sustainable têxtiles and production methods (e.g., recycled materials, organic fibers).
- Use design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for têxtile design and pattern creation.
- Understand weaving, knitting, and printing techniques.
- Knowledge of fabric production processes like weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing.
