The Academic Counselor is a key member of the Student Services team, responsible for providing comprehensive academic and career counseling to students. The role involves guiding students through their educational journey, assisting with course selection, offering career guidance, and providing emotional support. The Academic Counselor collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to enhance the overall student experience and contribute to their success.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Student Advising**:Provide one-on-one academic advising to students, assisting them in setting and achieving their educational goals.
Guide students in selecting appropriate courses, majors, and academic programs based on their interests and strengths.
Monitor and review students' academic progress, offering guidance and interventions as needed.

**Career Guidance**:Offer insights into potential career paths based on students' academic pursuits and interests.
Provide information about job market trends, internship opportunities, and graduate studies options.

**Personal and Emotional Support**:Create a safe and supportive space for students to discuss academic, personal, and emotional challenges.
Offer guidance on time management, study skills, and stress management to promote overall well-being.

**Program Knowledge**:Stay informed about academic program requirements, curriculum changes, and university policies.
Communicate accurate information to students regarding degree progression, course prerequisites, and academic regulations.

**Orientation and Workshops**:Participate in new student orientation programs to introduce incoming students to academic resources and support services.
Conduct workshops and presentations on topics such as study strategies, academic planning, and career development.

**Data Management**:Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of student interactions, advising sessions, and academic plans.
Use data to track trends, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to assessment efforts.

**Collaboration**:Collaborate with faculty members, department chairs, and other academic advisors to ensure a seamless academic experience for students.
Work with colleagues to address academic and personal challenges affecting student success.

**Professional Development**:Stay current with best practices in academic advising, counseling techniques, and higher education trends through ongoing professional development.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of academic programs, curriculum requirements, and institutional policies.
- Familiarity with career development resources and strategies.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and student information systems.
- Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or related fields is a plus

**Salary**: ₹100,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
