**Developing and Implementing Safety Programs**: Safety managers in construction are responsible for developing comprehensive safety programs tailored to the specific risks present in construction activities. This includes creating safety policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements.
- **Site Inspections and Hazard Identification**: Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards such as uneven terrain, falling objects, electrical hazards, and confined spaces. They work closely with project managers and site supervisors to address these hazards and implement appropriate controls.
- **Training and Toolbox Talks**: Providing ongoing safety training to construction workers on topics such as proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of equipment and materials, fall protection, and hazard communication. Safety managers also conduct toolbox talks to reinforce safety practices and discuss specific hazards relevant to the current job site.
- **Incident Investigation and Reporting**: Leading investigations into construction accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence. They document incidents, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions to improve safety performance. Timely reporting of incidents to regulatory agencies, if required, is also part of their responsibilities.
- **Safety Equipment and Gear**: Ensuring that appropriate safety equipment and gear are available and used correctly on construction sites. This includes conducting regular inspections of PPE, fall protection systems, scaffolding, and other safety equipment to verify compliance with standards and regulations.
- **Heavy Machinery and Vehicle Safety**: Overseeing the safe operation of heavy machinery and vehicles on construction sites. Safety managers establish protocols for equipment inspections, operator training, and safe work practices to minimize the risk of accidents involving cranes, forklifts, excavators, and other machinery.
- **Emergency Response Planning**: Developing emergency response plans specific to construction sites, including procedures for evacuations, medical emergencies, and incident command. Safety managers coordinate with local emergency services and conduct drills to ensure that workers are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
- **Subcontractor Safety Management**: Collaborating with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that they adhere to safety requirements and standards while working on construction projects. This may involve reviewing subcontractor safety plans, conducting pre-qualification assessments, and monitoring their safety performance throughout the project duration.
- **Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance**: Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations related to construction activities, such as waste management, air quality, and noise control. Safety managers implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of construction operations and mitigate potential hazards to surrounding communities.
- **Continuous Improvement and Safety Culture**: Promoting a culture of safety among all stakeholders involved in construction projects, including contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Safety managers actively engage with project teams to identify opportunities for improvement, share lessons learned, and celebrate successes in achieving safety milestones.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
