As part of our expansion plans, we are seeking a Purchase Manager to join our team in Guwahati.

Role Overview: The Purchase Manager will play a vital role in our plastic recycling operations. The primary responsibility of the Purchase Manager will be to procure post-consumer PET bottles and industrial plastic waste from various sources, with a specific focus on establishing relationships with plastic waste aggregators. Additionally, the Purchase Manager will be responsible for building plastic waste collection centers to ensure a steady supply of plastic waste at its source.

**Responsibilities**:
Procurement Strategy:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for acquiring post-consumer PET bottles and industrial plastic waste.
- Identify and establish relationships with plastic waste aggregators, recyclers, and other relevant suppliers.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability, and sustainability practices.

Supplier Management:

- Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of plastic waste.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews.

Plastic Waste Collection Centers:

- Plan and execute the establishment of plastic waste collection centers in strategic locations.
- Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and NGOs to create awareness and drive participation in plastic waste collection initiatives.
- Ensure effective operations and management of collection centers, including logistics, staff training, and quality control.

Market Research and Analysis:

- Stay updated with market trends, pricing, and availability of post-consumer PET bottles and industrial plastic waste.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess competition, and explore new sourcing opportunities.

Compliance and Sustainability:

- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Develop and implement sustainable procurement practices, promoting responsible sourcing and environmentally friendly packaging alternatives.

Reporting and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and purchase orders.
- Generate reports on procurement performance, cost analysis, and market trends for management review.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the plastic recycling industry.
- In-depth knowledge of plastic waste supply chain management, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with plastic waste aggregators and recycling industry networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
