Land Surveyor

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Land Surveyor to join our team. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveys to determine land boundaries, topographic features, and other essential data required for construction, development, and land management projects. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying techniques, proficiency with surveying equipment, and the ability to interpret and communicate survey data effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Survey Planning and Preparation**:

- **Project Review**: Review project plans, maps, and legal documents to understand the scope and requirements of the survey.
- **Site Assessment**: Conduct preliminary site assessments to determine survey methods and equipment needed.
- **Field Surveys**:

- **Data Collection**: Perform land surveys using various techniques and equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- **Measurement and Mapping**: Measure land features, boundaries, elevations, and distances accurately and document findings.
- **Site Coordination**: Coordinate with construction teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure survey data meets project needs.
- **Data Analysis and Interpretation**:

- **Data Processing**: Analyze and interpret survey data, converting raw data into detailed maps, charts, and reports.
- **Error Checking**: Review and verify the accuracy of survey data and calculations to ensure precision and compliance with standards.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:

- **Survey Reports**: Prepare comprehensive survey reports and documentation, including diagrams, drawings, and legal descriptions.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate and organized records of survey data, equipment usage, and field notes.
- **Compliance and Standards**:

- **Regulatory Adherence**: Ensure all surveys comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
- **Quality Control**: Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability in survey data.
- **Client and Team Communication**:

- **Client Interaction**: Communicate with clients to provide updates on survey progress, address any concerns, and deliver final survey results.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to integrate survey data into project planning and execution.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Proven experience as a Land Surveyor or in a similar role, with a strong track record of accurate and reliable surveying.
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional licensure (e.g., Licensed Surveyor) is preferred.
- **Skills**: Proficiency with surveying equipment, software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS), and data analysis tools. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- **Knowledge**: In-depth understanding of surveying techniques, land boundaries, topographic mapping, and legal regulations related to land surveying.
- **Attention to Detail**: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all surveying activities and data processing.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time position with a standard workweek; flexibility may be required for fieldwork and project deadlines.
- Fieldwork involves outdoor activities in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Some travel may be required to different job sites or project locations.
