**Who You Are**:

- You are an experienced DBA with 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator managing AWS Aurora MySQL and MySQL databases in production environments.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including point-in-time recovery and failover.
- Experience with OLAP reporting database or NoSQL columnar databases and organizing data optimized for reporting.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and IAM.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- AWS Certification(s) is a plus.
- Experience with other database systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server is desirable.

**What You Will Do**:

- Install, configure, and manage AWS Aurora MySQL and MySQL database systems.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
- Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to design and deploy database solutions that meet business requirements.
- Implement and enforce database security best practices, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, technical specifications, and system diagrams.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration, cloud computing, and data management.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed.
