**Key Responsibilities**
- **Sample Preparation & Handling**:

- Receive and log incoming metal samples.
- Carry out grinding, sectioning, dissolution, and digestion of samples following SOPs.
- Ensure cleanliness and calibration of sample prep equipment.
- **Analytical Testing**:

- Perform wet chemical analyses (acid/base titrations, gravimetric, colorimetric).
- Operate and maintain instrumental techniques—XRF, ICP-OES, AAS, OES, spectrophotometry.
- Conduct tests for alloy composition, impurity levels, moisture content, and inclusion analysis.
- **Data Recording & Reporting**:

- Record raw data and calculate concentrations, adhering to GLP/GMP practices.
- Prepare clear, concise test reports and certificates of analysis.
- Review results for conformity and flag out-of-spec findings for corrective action.
- **Quality Assurance & Compliance**:

- Follow ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 (or other relevant) quality-system requirements.
- Participate in internal and external proficiency tests and audits.
- Calibrate and validate analytical instruments; maintain calibration logs.
- **Laboratory Maintenance & Safety**:

- Monitor inventory of reagents, solvents, and consumables; place purchase requisitions.
- Maintain a clean, organized lab environment and waste-disposal records.
- Adhere to all EHS protocols (chemical hygiene, PPE usage, spill response).
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Help develop and optimize analytical methods to improve throughput and accuracy.
- Train junior analysts and interns on techniques and safety procedures.
- Assist in root-cause investigations when quality deviations occur.

**Key Skills & Competencies**
- In-depth knowledge of non-ferrous metallurgy and chemical analysis methods.
- Hands-on experience with XRF, ICP-OES/AES, AAS, wet chemistry techniques.
- Strong data-analysis skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient with LIMS / QC databases and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
