Their primary responsibility is to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring heart conditions using **echocardiograms**.

**Roles and Responsibilities of an Echo Technician in a Hospital1. Performing Echocardiograms**
- Conduct **transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE)** and **transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)** to evaluate heart function.
- Perform **stress echocardiograms** to assess how the heart functions under stress.
- Use **Doppler ultrasound** techniques to measure blood flow and detect abnormalities.

**2. Assisting Physicians in Diagnosis**
- Provide accurate and high-quality images to cardiologists for analysis.
- Identify and document abnormalities in heart structure and function.
- Explain preliminary findings to physicians, but not diagnose conditions themselves.

**3. Patient Interaction and Preparation**
- Explain the procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
- Position patients properly for optimal imaging results.

**4. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration**
- Operate and adjust echocardiography machines to ensure clear imaging.
- Regularly clean and maintain ultrasound equipment.
- Report any malfunctions or needed repairs to the biomedical team.

**5. Keeping Records and Reports**
- Document imaging results accurately in patient records.
- Maintain detailed logs of procedures performed.
- Work with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.

- Work closely with **cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals** in diagnosing heart conditions.
