**Job Summary**:
The Head of the Department (HOD) for Biotechnology is responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the department. This role involves managing faculty, overseeing curriculum development, promoting research, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning standards. The HOD serves as the key point of contact for departmental activities and liaises with higher authorities to align departmental goals with the institution’s vision.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the planning and implementation of academic programs and curriculum in Biotechnology.
- Supervise faculty performance, student progress, and departmental operations.
- Foster a culture of innovation, research, and academic excellence.
- Coordinate faculty recruitment, mentoring, and professional development.
- Organize seminars, workshops, and industry interaction for students and staff.
- Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and institutional policies.
- Monitor departmental budgets, lab resources, and research infrastructure.
- Facilitate inter-departmental collaborations and industry partnerships.
- Promote student engagement through projects, internships, and competitions.
- Submit timely reports, feedback, and academic reviews to management.

**Qualifications**:

- Ph.D. in Biotechnology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience with leadership exposure.
- Strong academic record with publications, research grants, and project work.
- Familiarity with accreditation processes (NAAC/NBA) and academic governance.
