Draftsman

As a 2D Mechanical Draftsman, the main responsibility is to create detailed technical drawings and plans for mechanical components. These drawings serve as a blueprint for manufacturing the components. A brief job description for a 2D Mechanical Draftsman:
1) Use AutoCAD/similar software and traditional drafting techniques to produce accurate 2D technical drawings, sections, and detailed views, based on specifications provided by engineers.
2) Generate clear and precise documentation, including dimensions, materials, tolerances, and annotations, to ensure the proper understanding and implementation of the designs.
3) Work closely with manufacturing and design team members to understand product requirements, receive design inputs, and incorporate changes or improvements into the drawings.
4) Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the project, especially in industries with strict safety and quality guidelines.
5) Keep drawings up-to-date with any design changes or modifications throughout the product lifecycle. Maintain a version control system to track revisions accurately.
6) Review and verify the accuracy of drawings to identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies in dimensions or specifications.
7) Strive for efficiency in drafting processes without compromising on the accuracy and quality of the technical drawings.
8) Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive engineering data and intellectual property.
