SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Knowledge and experience with configuration management processes within a product development or sustaining engineering field, preferably in high-tech, low volume and highly configurable and customizable environment.
- Provides design and drafting support (using Inventor and Solidworks) for new and ongoing engineering projects, sustaining issues, configuration related tasks, compatibility checks, marketing related requests, and overall product development support.
- Ability to understand additional design requirements for a given configuration.
- Gather needed information and provide judgment and feedback based on partial and incomplete information. Understand the need to work/cooperate with multiple departments (R&D, Engineering, Marketing/Sales, Service, Manufacturing).
- Design specifics tied to vacuum design, thermal management, mechanisms, and X-Ray shielding, but not limited to.
- Supports project managers and engineers in creating and maintaining BOM and ECO revisions in ERP system.
- Prepares 2D drawings of parts and assemblies based on existing 3D designs and provided mark-ups.
- Creates, checks, and verifies 3D assembly structures and BOMs for accuracy and supports related ECO/ECR’s entry and data release in PLM system (Agile).
- Creates new designs using engineering directions.
- Understanding of documentation management processes related to BOMs, ECOs, ECR and related documentation.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills to effectively collaborate and share information is a must.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 10+yrs of related experience in mechanical drafting/design field.
- 5+yrs experience of web-based PLM required, Agile PLM software preferred.
- 5+yrs 3D CAD package knowledge.
- Understands 3D model structure, creation of corresponding 2D files, dimensioning, BOM preparation and review. - Physical requirements: must be able to work indoors in an office setting. Requires full capabilities to work full time at a computer workstation.
- Motivated and well organized in their work product.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Autodesk Inventor CAD user and Agile integration.
- Basic Engineering Technician skill set, mechanical assembly, and testing.
