Cath Lab Technician

Greets patient and makes comfortable with department surroundings.
- Prepare patient for catheterization procedure
- Assess the patient’s status on arrival and throughout the procedure by demonstrating knowledge of electrocardiographic, hemodynamic, and hematological data
- Assist physician during procedure
- Observes patient for any complications of catheterization procedure
- Observes all fluid infusion and patency of catheters
- Assists supervisor in accurately recording charges for procedures
- Attends all hospital mandatory in-services
- Demonstrates a willingness to maintain a harmonious working relationship with physicians, and other staff members
- Assist physicians during cardiac, angiography and other related procedures
- Select and prepare appropriate supplies, contrast media and equipment for cardio, angiographic and other related procedures
- Demonstrate documentation on patient care records and unit forms
- Transports patients to department in a timely manner
- Maintains unit supply and equipment inventories as indicated
- Assists with patient positioning and lifting
- Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to policy, procedure and division/unit specific competencies
- Assists the primary physician to perform procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab
- Reviews patient history, prior films, and other data prior to procedure
- Understands indications for procedure assists with equipment selection sets up and prepares equipment for cardiac catheterization scrubs as first assistant in Cardiac Catheterization procedures and in selected diagnostic procedures recognizes and implements immediate measures in emergency situations, complies with OSHA Regulatory Agencies and Hospital safety standards
- Ensures post procedure data is complete accurate and documented according to Cath Lab and Hospital protocol
- Verifies hemodynamic data reviews angiographic and hemodynamic data with operating physician records pertinent data on physician reports inputs completed data in database and ensure final reports are placed in patients medical records
- Assists with equipment standardization to ensure cost effectiveness and positive patient outcomes
- Evaluates new equipment, technology and devices makes recommendations based on evaluations and patient outcomes make recommendations for areas for equipment consolidation monitors for equipment failures and waste returns failed equipment and opened and or unused equipment to purchasing manager for vendor credit protects inventory resources
- Keeps current on best practice standards new technological and research in cardiology and endovascular fields
- Assists with development of protocols and protocols and procedures for use in the laboratory assists with orientation and education of Cath Lab staff
- Provides for the delivery of patient care and demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients and family members as defined in the mission of our facility
- Utilizes equipment and supplies in a safe and prudent manner
- Maintains physiologic and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, informs the Catheterization Supervisor of any problems
- Restocks and prepares rooms for next day's procedures in conjunction with other team members
- Proficient in interpreting EKG and blood pressure tracings.(Hemodynamic monitoring)
- Knowledge of Cath Lab imaging and monitoring equipment
- Knowledge of EP equipment and procedures preferred
- Training specific to the Cardiac Cath Lab
- Select and prepare appropriate supplies, contrast media and equipment for cardio, angiographic and other related procedures
- Demonstrates and practices proper radiation protection measures
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and follows proper procedure protocols
- Compiles test results on patient and forwards to physician
- Documents appropriately in patients’ medical record
- Instructs patient of post-catheterization limitations and restrictions
- Follows current trends and practices in the Cath Lab
- Associate Degree in Radiological Technology
- Requires reasoning, mathematical and language skills be performed at a level four or high school level
- Available for emergency call-back after normal working hours
- Able to adapt and vary work routine as needed and willing to cross train in related job areas
- LSRT Required
- ED, ICU, Cardiac nursing experience in a level III trauma center or higher preferred

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
