We are seeking a proactive and technical Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team. If you enjoy bringing order to unstructured situations, collaborating across departments, and driving customer satisfaction, this role is for you.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in relaying critical information between Sales, Engineering, and Production. Under the mentoring and oversight of Systems Engineers and mechanical designers, you will be responsible for creating accurate and consistent electrical layouts and schematics within established timelines to support the success of our Production team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Create complete electrical layouts and schematics based on customer specifications, Mechanical Design Engineering (MDE) drawings, and other sources.
- Utilize standard drawing templates and perform calculations to ensure correct sizing of generators, shore power, and balanced loads on each wire.
- Label and size wires, fuses, breakers, loads, etc., ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate with MDEs to identify and resolve discrepancies between electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Implement, supervise, and document tests to verify designs meet customer requirements.
- Generate documentation and schematics required for Production within established time frames.
- Ensure correct documents are available to relevant teams within the company.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Program Management, and Production Leads to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Communicate with vendors and clients to troubleshoot designs and obtain specifications of components.
- Analyze proposed Change Orders, assessing their impact on design parameters, timeline, budget, and feasibility.
- Propagate downstream revisions to analyses and schematics in a timely manner.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including but not limited to capacitance meters, oscilloscopes, and CAD software.
- Provide detailed documentation, instructions, drawings, or specifications for fabrication, construction, and assembly.
- Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies.

**Basic Knowledge Desired**:

- Understanding of electrical loads, fuses, wire capacities, resistors, diodes, relays, etc.
- Proficient in using a variety of tools and equipment for electrical testing and measurement.
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Electrical Schematic Design software (CAD, SolidWorks).
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), with abilities in Microsoft Access being advantageous.
- Knowledge or experience in automotive or marine wiring and vehicle upfitting is a plus.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and schematic design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a high degree of customer service.
