**Job Summary**

The Nursing Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality critical care to patients in the Medical and Surgical ICUs. This includes monitoring patient conditions, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring adherence to treatment plans. The role demands expertise in managing life-support equipment, emergency interventions, and providing compassionate care.

**Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care**
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including medical and post-surgical cases.
- Monitor and manage vital signs, ventilators, and other life-support equipment.
- Administer medications, fluids, and blood products per physician orders.
- Ensure timely documentation of nursing care, interventions, and patient progress.

**Critical Care Management**
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, managing codes and critical situations.
- Implement infection control practices to ensure patient safety.
- Perform specialized procedures such as arterial line monitoring, central line care, and wound dressing.

**Interdisciplinary Coordination**
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
- Communicate patient conditions and treatment progress to family members as appropriate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning.

**Equipment and Supplies**
- Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Maintain inventory of emergency and critical care supplies, ensuring availability at all times.

**Professional Development**
- Stay updated on critical care protocols and advancements through training programs.
- Adhere to hospital policies and standards, including NABH, ACLS, and BLS guidelines.
- Participate in performance reviews and identify opportunities for skill enhancement.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- **Education**: B.Sc. Nursing or GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery).
- **Experience**: Minimum 2 years in Medical ICU or Surgical ICU.
- **Certifications**: ACLS/BLS certified.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in critical care nursing and advanced procedures.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols.

**Work Conditions**
- Rotational shifts, including night duty.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working in high-stress environments.
