QC Chemist - Pharma and Medical Devices

**Job Summary**: The QC Chemist is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products and medical devices through rigorous testing and analysis. This role involves performing chemical and physical tests, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining accurate documentation to support the production of high-quality products.

This is a full-time on-site role for a '' at **Cephas Life Sciences** in Chennai. The role involves performing specialized analytical services such as Extractable & Leachable, Chemical Characterization, Method Development & Validation, Analytical Testing, and more using advanced technologies such as LC-MS/MS, HSGC-MS/MS, and ICP-MS. The role also includes Toxicological Risk Assessment, Elemental Impurity Studies, and other related activities.

**Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in internal and external audits and inspections as required.

**Quality Control**:

- Monitor and review batch records and test results to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
- Identify, investigate, and document deviations or discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain calibration and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor) are a plus.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 6 month of experience in a quality control role within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
- **Knowledge**: In-depth understanding of GMP, GLP, and FDA regulations. Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical device product standards and testing methodologies.
- **Soft Skills**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
