**Position Overview**:
The Ayurvedic Formulation Expert will be responsible for the development, optimization, and refinement of Ayurvedic formulations. This role requires a deep understanding of Ayurvedic principles, plant-based ingredients, and formulation techniques, along with a strong background in scientific research and quality control. You will collaborate closely with our R&D, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of efficacy, safety, and quality.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Formulation Development**:
- Develop and create innovative Ayurvedic formulations based on traditional texts, scientific research, and industry trends.
- Formulate both single-herb products and complex multi-ingredient formulas to address specific health concerns.
- **Research and Innovation**:
- Conduct in-depth research on plant-based ingredients, extraction methods, bioavailability, and efficacy to ensure the safety and effectiveness of formulations.
- Stay updated on global trends and advancements in Ayurveda, natural products, and alternative medicine.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to conduct stability studies, shelf-life testing, and safety assessments.
- **Quality Assurance and Compliance**:
- Ensure that all formulations comply with local, regional, and international regulations (e.g., FDA, EU, GMP).
- Monitor the sourcing and quality of raw materials to ensure the highest standards of ingredient integrity.
- Work closely with quality control teams to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for formulation and production.
- **Product Testing and Evaluation**:
- Collaborate with the clinical research team or external laboratories to conduct clinical trials or product efficacy testing when required.
- Review product performance and customer feedback and adjust formulations accordingly.
- **Training and Mentorship**:
- Provide expert guidance and training to junior formulation scientists, interns, and other team members on Ayurvedic principles, formulation techniques, and best practices.
- Act as an internal expert on Ayurvedic ingredients and product development processes.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, regulatory affairs, and product management to ensure successful product launches.
- Provide insights and support for product claims, packaging, and marketing strategies.
**Qualifications**:
- **Educational Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ayurvedic Medicine, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Post-graduate certification or training in Ayurvedic formulation or herbal medicine is highly preferred.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of professional experience in Ayurvedic product development, formulation, or R&D.
- Proven expertise in creating Ayurvedic formulations with a strong understanding of plant-based pharmacology and natural product chemistry.
- Hands-on experience with herbal extraction methods, product stability testing, and quality control protocols.
- **Skills and Competencies**:
- In-depth knowledge of various Ayurvedic herbs, essential oils, and botanicals, including their therapeutic uses and potential interactions.
- Experience with scientific research methods, including formulation testing, stability analysis, and product optimization.
- Familiarity with current regulations, quality standards (GMP), and safety guidelines in the Ayurvedic/natural products industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
