PMC currently processes more than 80% of global Pearson eCommerce revenue and serves nearly 50% of all Pearson web traffic. **About the Role**:
We are looking for a high performing Solutions Architect with experience of large-scale eCommerce and Web Content management implementations. Our mission is to deliver re-usable components and capabilities across our global platform for eCommerce and Content using the latest enterprise technologies, tools and innovative micro-services architecture.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Providing architectural strategy and leadership to develop and implement initiatives that promote innovation in the eCommerce & web content space.
- Collaborating with Enterprise Architects, Tech Leads and peer SAs to define the scope for various initiatives and design solutions that align with enterprise technology strategy.
- Evaluate emerging technology for use across multiple domains, which include RFPs, vendor evaluations and creation of Architecture Design Proposals
- Ensuring that global solutions adhere to non-functional and compliance requirements.
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to technical leads and development teams.
- Have a strong focus on the high quality throughout the entire process, working closely with the Quality Assurance stream
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects for aspects related to integration with other systems
- Collaborate with Product Owners and other core platforms to drive product vision, manage scope and expectations
- Architect Digital Consumer experiences based on a foundation of enterprise technologies that define web content and eCommerce strategy.

**Key Challenges**:

- Championing and defining architecture for eCommerce & CMS in a rapidly evolving market.
- Ensuring the quality of the technical solution delivered by the project teams.
- Working in a matrixed and geographically distributed environment[AC1]

**About You**:
Essential Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, relational databases, and complex integration landscapes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and experience designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions.

Desirable skills and knowledge:

- Familiarity with API-first Headless architecture implementation in eCommerce or Web Content space.
- Prior work experience in Web content management tools and ecommerce SaaS platforms such as SAP Commerce Cloud Big Commerce
- Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning technologies, and how they can be leveraged in eCommerce.
