**Job Summary**:
The Commis 3 is an entry-level position in the kitchen responsible for basic food preparation tasks, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting senior chefs in maintaining smooth kitchen operations. The Commis 3 plays a vital support role, helping with ingredient preparation, simple cooking tasks, and adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Basic Food Preparation**:
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Help with simple tasks like washing vegetables, preparing garnishes, and making salads.
- Assist in preparing mise-en-place for senior chefs, ensuring that ingredients and equipment are ready for service.
- **Assisting in Cooking**:
- Support senior chefs by handling simple cooking tasks under supervision.
- Learn and assist with basic cooking techniques, including boiling, frying, and baking.
- Assist in plating dishes under the guidance of more experienced kitchen staff.
- **Maintaining Cleanliness**:
- Ensure all workstations, kitchen equipment, and tools are kept clean and organized.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools as needed, ensuring cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Assist with daily kitchen cleaning duties, including floors, countertops, and food preparation areas.
- **Safety & Hygiene**:
- Follow kitchen hygiene standards, including proper handwashing and food safety practices.
- Ensure all food is stored and handled according to safety guidelines, including labeling and storing ingredients properly.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to senior chefs immediately.
- **Inventory & Supplies**:
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Help maintain ingredient stock levels by informing senior staff when items are running low.
- Follow first-in-first-out (FIFO) storage practices to reduce food wastage.
- **Team Support**:
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.
- Support senior chefs during busy service times by running food, preparing ingredients, or other tasks as needed.
- Assist in training new kitchen helpers or interns by demonstrating basic kitchen tasks.
- **Learning & Development**:
- Show a willingness to learn new cooking techniques and improve culinary skills.
- Actively participate in training provided by senior chefs to develop knowledge of kitchen operations.
- Seek opportunities to improve and contribute to the kitchen team’s success.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary certificate or course is an advantage but not mandatory.
- **Experience**: Previous experience is not required but a strong interest in cooking and food preparation is essential. Internships or kitchen experience is a plus.
- **Skills**:
- Basic understanding of kitchen tools, equipment, and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
