A merchandiser is a professional who is responsible for creating and implementing visual displays and layouts for retail stores, online platforms, or other venues. They work with various products, such as clothing, accessories, electronics, furniture, etc., and use their creativity and marketing skills to attract customers and increase sales.

Some of the common duties and responsibilities of a merchandiser are:

- Analyzing sales data and customer feedback to identify the best-selling and most profitable products
- Planning and developing merchandising strategies that suit the target market, budget, and brand identity
- Coordinating with buyers, suppliers, distributors, and store managers to ensure the availability and quality of products
- Designing, setting up, and maintaining attractive and functional displays, fixtures, and signage
- Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing stock as needed
- Negotiating prices, terms, and contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify new trends and opportunities
- Evaluating the effectiveness of merchandising campaigns and making adjustments as needed
- Training and supervising other merchandising staff or team members
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
