**Overview**: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Psychology Department as a Laboratory Assistant. This role is integral to supporting the research activities within the department, providing essential assistance in conducting experiments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the laboratory environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Experimental Support**:

- Assist in setting up and conducting experiments under the supervision of senior researchers.
- Prepare materials and equipment necessary for experiments.
- Monitor experiments and record data accurately and efficiently.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain consistency and reliability in experimental procedures.**Laboratory Maintenance**:

- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory space.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; notify appropriate personnel of low stock.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and students.**Data Management and Analysis**:

- Assist in data entry, coding, and analysis using appropriate software tools.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of research data and participant information.
- Generate basic summaries and reports of experimental results as directed.**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate effectively with researchers, faculty members, and other laboratory staff.
- Communicate any issues, concerns, or deviations from protocols promptly to supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions related to ongoing research projects.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**: Minimum of a high school diploma; coursework or degree in psychology or a related field preferred.- **Experience**: Previous experience in a laboratory setting or conducting research is advantageous but not required. Training will be provided.

**Skills**:

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and experimental procedures.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel) is desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
